When your neighbor sets aside a whole day to take you to your surgery appointment in another town, it's nice, but not really newsworthy. Even when it's the same neighbor who has helped you and your disabled vet husband with clearing the snow from your sidewalks for 3 years.. without being asked.
However, when the same neighbor uses the time he's spending waiting for you to get out of surgery to locate resources for those displaced by the recent 'sex for rent' landlord scandal, it's worth noting.
Especially because the "nice neighbor" met these folks while campaigning for County Board District 18. Jim Blouin is out listening to the people in his district, and helping them find assistance. He did more for the people in his district in one day -- Feb. 28, 2024 -- than the incumbent has done in two years.
When Mr. Blouin gives his word to do something, he does it. When the discussion gets tough, Jim Blouin stands up and walks in.. not stand up and walk out.
